Tint Tanks Power Pumps Help Page
Getting Started
Make sure there is no air pressure in your tank by releasing the PRV valve in the lid for a few seconds.
Secure the Power Pump to your tank using the hanging strap. It's best to position it near the OUT post, as shown here:
Attach the Power Pump's black quick connector to your tank's OUT post by lifting the base ring and pushing the connector down until it clicks into place.
Attach your hose connector to the Power Pump's OUT post.
Set the battery power switch to ON
Hold the trigger of your hose's spray gun for a few seconds, until the pump has been primed and you are getting a consistent flow of liquid from the pump.
Once primed, the pump will run intermittently, only as needed to supply pressure. This maximizes efficiency by minimizing power consumption.
When finished, disconnect the Power Pump from your tank, pump out any remaining liquid in your hose, then disconnect your hose.
IMPORTANT
-
Be careful to minimize the amount of time your pump is running without liquid flowing through it. This can damage the pump.
-
DO NOT PRESSURIZE your tank when using the Power Pump!
-
Power Pumps feature a water resistant design and protective case, but it's best to avoid contact with water as much as possible.
-
Remove the battery from the nylon case for charging to avoid overheating.
It's important to open your pressure release valve by lifting the pull ring and turning it sideways on the mount to the raised (open) position:
This will allow air into your tank, making it easier for the pump to draw water out.
Is your Power Pump running, but not moving liquid?
If your PRV is propped open as shown above, but your pump is still not pulling liquid from your tank, you may have a buildup of air in your hose. This backpressure can prevent the pump from drawing water from the tank.
Inconsistent or sputtering spray is another sign that this is the issue.
With your Power Pump connected to a filled tank, spray 5-10 seconds, repeating until a steady stream is produced. (Spray directly back into your tank to conserve product!)
The Power Pump should resume normal, intermittent power once any air has been purged.
If the issue continues, try disconnecting your hose, draining any air / liquid, and reconnecting.
